Essential Edinburgh is the latest Scottish company to complete the rigorous evaluation process to become a Certified B Corporation™. As the first Business Improvement District (BID) to be certified, Essential Edinburgh is hoping to galvanise other BIDs across Britain to begin the certification process and be counted among businesses that are leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.
B Corps are companies verified as meeting B Lab Standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, covering five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
