What We Do
Working for our levy payers we ensure our city centre excels as a place for business, to shop, visit and enjoy.
In order to do this, the following objectives will be met:
PROMOTING: Attracting key target audiences to come, stay, spend and return.
ENHANCING: Ensure a noticeably improved environment to give an enhanced experience.
PROTECTING: Allow people to feel relaxed by actively discouraging crime & anti-social behaviour.
ENGAGING: Providing a united and informed voice to influence on levy payers’ behalf and give them direct benefits.

The success of the BID will be measured using Key Performance Indicators:
PROTECTING
- Police Scotland crime statistics
- Perception of crime in the area
ENHANCING
- Perception of cleanliness of area
- Annual cleanliness statistics from Mitie
- Perception of attractiveness and welcome in the area
PROMOTING
- Footfall
- Retail sales
- Hospitality sales
- Advertising effectiveness measurement
- Visitor spend and perception of the area
There will be many factors that influence some of these measures and it may be found that other measures can be used in the future to provide a more accurate reflection of the impact of the BID on businesses in the area.
