Essential Edinburgh Launch Cracking Easter Egg Hunt

Essential Edinburgh has hatched a plan to encourage those who live and work in Edinburgh to discover some of the exciting retail and hospitality options available in the city centre over the Easter holidays – with a twist on the traditional Easter Egg Hunt.

Starting Monday 8th April and running to the 22nd April, Essential Edinburgh’s Easter Egg Hunt will provide an opportunity to find a huge £500 Edinburgh Gift Card plus discounts or prizes from a range of businesses, simply by hunting out ten specially designed Easter Eggs.

Firstly, a golden egg, worth a huge £500 Edinburgh Gift Card, valid at over 90 businesses,  will be hidden in an outdoor location in the city centre. If you spot the golden egg, simply snap a picture and share on social, tagging @EdinCityCentre to be in with a chance of winning.

A further nine eggs have been hidden in businesses across the city centre, ranging from food and drink to fashion. All you need to do is simply find the secret egg, and say the word hidden in the design at the till to win.

There is an Easter Egg to suit all interests stashed across the city. For fans of food and drink, exclusive discounts are available at Yo Sushi, Tigerlily, Rabble and Eastside. Those with a passion for fashion can enjoy discounts in Route One and Bonkers Gift Shop, with free luxury gifts also on offer in John Lewis and White Stuff.  Finally, The Body Shop will be offering a free bespoke consultation and treatment in-store for those who find the egg and say the secret word.

Teasers of where each of the eggs are hidden will be shared from Sunday 7th April on Essential Edinburgh’s social channels – @EdinCityCentre.

The Essential Edinburgh Easter Egg Hunt is free to join and live throughout the full duration of the Easter school holidays, making a tour around the town fun for all.

Roddy Smith, Chief Executive of Essential Edinburgh said: ”Our Easter Egg Hunt is set to be a real cracker.
