Child Safe Scheme

On Friday 6th February 2009 the Child Safe Scheme was launched across the BID area. The scheme is widely used across the UK, particularly in shopping centres and BID areas, a child safe scheme is already operating in the St James Centre.

Everyone who is in the Essential Edinburgh area with small children can take a wristband from a participating retailer. The parent writes their mobile number on the wristband and attaches it to their child's wrist. If the adult gets separated from the child the child has a contact number on their wrist for immediate contact.

The wristbands are available from participating shops every day of the week that they are open – all year round.
