Farmers' Market
If you want food as fresh as it can be, visit the award-winning Edinburgh Farmers' Market every Saturday year round from 9am - 2pm.
The market takes place at Castle Terrace under the imposing backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.
Over 70 specialist producers currently attend the market with the majority of stallholders being primary producers, growing what they sell. A quarter offer meat products, including specialities such as wild boar, venison, ostrich and water buffalo. Organic beef, chicken, lamb and pork are also available. Other types of produce include fish (lobster in season), free-range eggs (including duck eggs), cheese, seasonal fruit & vegetables, honey, chillies and plants. In addition you'll find producers who bake and prepare their own farm products. Guest producers provide specialities including organic beer, liqueurs, bread, tablet, chocolates and chutneys.
Car parking is very convenient, with on-street parking and car parks on Earl Grey Street and Castle Terrace itself. The market is also very convenient for the bus routes on Lothian Road and Shandwick Place, with the train stations at Waverley and Haymarket only a short walk away.
