Essential Edinburgh strives to improve all aspects of the BID area. We have a number of initiatives which attempt to improve footfall and affectively generate more business for all enterprises within the district.

Parking Promotions
We will continue to enable special parking promotions to provide customers with free parking at certain times of the year in addition to the Council provided Christmas promotion. These activities will be coordinated with events and promotional campaigns designed to attract visitors and shoppers to the city centre.

Lobbying
Essential Edinburgh will campaign effectively to ensure that the needs of all city centre users are addressed when relevant organisations take decisions on transport and accessibility in the future.

Pedestrian friendly environment
An issue that the BID will take on is improving the pedestrian experience of the area by working with businesses and police to better manage the use of Rose Street by trade vehicles and other traffic.
