Required Permits

Public Entertainment License – this will have to be applied for if the event is looking to charge for entry.

Occasional Liquor License – this will have to be applied for if the sale of alcohol is planned for the event.

Event Fees

Event fees will be decided when all relevant information has been submitted to Essential Edinburgh. The fee will be calculated from the following factors;

Event times and dates, this can vary through different times of the year ranging from the Edinburgh Festival, holidays, weekends and evenings, length of operating and set up and take down times.

Whether the event is corporate, commercial, promotional, private/public, charitable, cultural.

Once the impact assessment has been reviewed this will determine the bond fee, this will cover any possible damage that could be caused to the location. To assess this, a condition survey will be carried out before and after the event.
