Edinburgh’s Life & Style Weekend Returns to the Capital for 2018


After a sell-out debut in 2017, Essential Edinburgh’s Life & Style event returns to the Capital this Spring on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May at The Royal Society of Edinburgh on George Street, encouraging visitors to enjoy a very stylish weekend, with the best that Edinburgh has to offer.

Life & Style brings together the shops, bars, brands and businesses in the central Business Improvement District, offering a packed programme for visitors to delight in across the weekend. Visitors will be able to enjoy a whole host of activities including a fashion show, trend talks, express beauty treatments and workshops, as well as gaining access to exclusive discounts and one-off masterclasses, sharing expert advice on fashion, health and beauty, interior design, food and drink and much more.

Included in each ticket is access to the much-loved fashion show and trend talk, which returns this year and will be hosted by Scottish fashion designer Lynne McCrossan, and an express beauty treatment in the pop-up beauty hall, including a choice of mini makeovers, manicures or massages, along with an Edinburgh Gin cocktail on arrival, an exclusive offers booklet and goody bag.

Alongside this, guests will have the chance to attend one of the many themed workshops or expert talks occurring, including floristry with Snapdragon, calligraphy with Laila Lettering, tea tastings with The East India Company, and lots more. Plus, there’ll be cocktail masterclasses from Badger & Co and Element, to help guests learn to serve the perfect tipple.

The Lifestyle Stage will be a hot ticket for the weekend, playing host to a roster of masterclasses with leading industry experts, compered by STV favourite and style blogger, Susie Bruce. Alongside masterclasses from brands including Topshop and Lululemon, there’ll be a packed schedule from a glittering roster of A-list experts.

Celebrity hairdresser Jason Collier, who tends to the tresses of Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria, will demonstrate easy-to-achieve hairstyles to take you from desk to dancefloor and beyond this summer, while A-list facialist Charlotte Connoley, whose clients include Meghan Markle and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, will share her skincare secrets for maintaining a healthy, youthful glow. Wendy Rigg, Fashion Director at Prima, Good Housekeeping and Reveal magazines, will provide her expert advice on packing stylish capsule wardrobes for wherever you’re holidaying this summer, and Scottish makeup artist Sara Hill will demonstrate the key beauty trends for the season ahead. Finally, award-winning blogger and author Vicky Psarias (aka ‘Honest Mum’), will take to the stage to discuss her debut book ‘MumBoss’ and participate in a Q&A session to share her experiences of being a multitasking working mum and making a huge success of her blog and media career.

Pop-ups from brands across the BID, including Oliver Bonas, John Lewis, Jenners, Anthropologie and more will be present across the event, providing a very stylish backdrop to the bank holiday weekend.

Attendees can choose from either a Saturday or Sunday full-day ticket, tickets are priced at £10, exclusively available from www.edinlifestyle.co.uk, with the first 500 customers receiving an exclusive goodie bag. On purchase, customers can select their preferred time slot for a seat at one of the many fashion shows, as well as booking into a workshop and Lifestyle Stage talk, but these will be available on a strictly first-come-first-served basis. Express beauty treatments will be booked on arrival at the event.

Edinburgh Life & Style will be from 10am-6pm on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May 2018, with doors opening from 9.30am.
